Leaving a Legacy......

The day that God placed your child in your arms, whether it be only a few years ago or many, you began the journey of leaving your legacy with your child. God placed his calling in your heart to “Teach [His commands] to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”(Deut. 11:19) You tenderly guided your child through those early developmental milestones, placing your imprint and love in every step along the way. As your child approached school age, the desires to continue shaping and equipping your child, leaving a godly legacy, grew stronger and you began the journey of homeschooling.

Morgantown Legacy Co-op

Who?
We are a gathering of Christian homeschool families seeking the opportunity to participate in activities and classes together through a Christian Worldview.

What?
Legacy is a Christian faith-based co-op that encourages families in their service to the Lord as they train up their children through God-exalting home education by supplementing the academic, extra-curricular, and social needs of their children.  Being a co-op, we rely on you, the parents, to make this successful! Please prayerfully consider how you can use your God given talents in our co-op (teaching a class, assisting in a class, planning events, etc.) There is a place for you!

Classes will be provided for K4 (4-years-old) through high school, with classes divided/grouped according to grade level.  Nursery will be provided for children from birth to 3 years of age.

There is no cost to join Legacy.  As individual classes are determined, there may be a small cost per class to cover supplies and decrease the financial burden on the teachers.

When?
Classes are on approximately every other Monday afternoon.  On alternate weeks we will be doing optional service projects, field trips, special events, hosting one-time teachers, etc. The field trips and other activities scheduled that may fall on different days of the week and/or at different times of the day.

Class Schedule:
11:30  Fellowship time/lunch (bring your own)
12:15 Announcements
12:30 to 1:30  Class 1
1:30 to 2:30  Class 2
2:30 to 3:30  Class 3

The purpose of doing this is to give busy families the opportunity to be involved in co-op without over-taxing their schedule, while at the same time providing opportunities for homeschoolers to be involved in a wide variety of enriching activities as a group.

Where?
Legacy is hosted by:
The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church
308 Elmhurst Street
Morgantown, WV 26505

Why?
Legacy began as a desire in the hearts of a few homeschooling families to provide support and fill the need of a co-op in our homeschooling community. As we want to leave a godly legacy with our children, we too have the desire to incorporate the strengths and God given gifts of others into our children's lives.
